Bart is Managing Partner and co-founder of Capitalmind in 1999.
The last 25 years Bart successfully closed 100+ (crossborder) deals, naturally in several sectors including business services, consumer incl. food and industrials. Many of these deals (also) involved (i) financing with international banks, debt/mezz funds and (PE) investors or (ii) MBOs.
Besides Dutch, Bart is fluent in English, German and French.
Since 2009 Bart is also Co-Chairman of the Board of the worldwide corporate finance partnership of Capitalmind with more than 400 professionals worldwide.
From 2003 to 2017 Bart was in the Non-Executive Board of the Investment Fund PPM Stimulans PE.
Before Bart founded Capitalmind, he was responsible for (structured) commodity finance at ING Barings in Eastern Europe and China for almost 4 years. His team was awarded ‘Worlds best Structured Commodity Financier’ in 1997 and 1998 by the leading business magazine Trade Finance.
From 1992 to 1996 Bart was (senior) attorney of law at the Amsterdam and Hong Kong offices of Baker & McKenzie, where he was responsible for (cross-border) Mergers & Acquisitions.
Bart studied International Trade Law as well as Business Economics at Tilburg/Rotterdam University in 1985-1990. Next to studying in Montpellier (France) in 1991, Bart also studied at the University of Notre Dame (USA) where he earned his Masters in International Law and Economics (LL.M) in 1992.
